Got a North Face Tadpole that has seen a few years service. It isn't leaking yet but I am wondering if a bit of preventative work wouldn't go amiss. Anyone know what sort of proofing should be used on this particular tent? Silicone based ?

Have had good results with Fabsil Gold

Ta. Seems to be the go to substance. Rumours about it affecting seam sealant though. Worth a try I think.

Just done my 10 year old hilleberg and followed their instructions:

Seems to be fine but I'll be using it in anger next week so will find our pretty quick! Like you mine wasn't showing signs of leaking but I wanted to pre-emptively treat.

Not sure if the fabrics are the same.

As mentioned above, Fabsil Gold. Though be careful around seams as I believe it can sometimes soak into them and delaminate the seam sealer.
