Reminds me of my dad. He developed an interest in hills in his late sixties after somebody told him about the Pennine Way in the pub. We walked a couple of sections of it and I took him up Pavey Ark in the rain.
Same stuff about coal dust.
I went to his home village in Slovakia; all limestone mountains and forest. He'd done it before.
