Understanding the RMT action, non ideological, pretty please.

As we left Morley Train station on Saturday, we saw a poster from Northern Railways, saying that Industrial Action is planned for certain Sundays.

We intend doing a 4 day cycle tour, from Lancashire, ending at either Grange over Sands or Windermere, on Sunday 5th June, then getting the train back.

What I am struggling to understand is will train services be impacted, by the RMT action, as with two touring bikes, I cannot think of a plan B, other than driving up, and leaving a vehicle in the area, and getting the train back Wednesday evening, which is not exactly climate friendly, and is a lot of messing around.

So, will the services be impacted, or not. The websites, suggests not, the poster suggested yes, and the phone helpline at Northern was not reassuring.

This won't help answer your question, but might help explain why it is hard to find out what's going on.

You may already know this, but employees who are about to participante in lawful strike action are not obliged to tell their employer in advance. They are obliged to answer any questions about their participation afterwards. The task of managing the effects of strike action (and other forms of IA) falls to management, but this can be hard to do in advance because they may not know exactly who will or won't come into work on a strike day.

Thanks for trying.
My Wife called in at Accrington Ticket office, and they said that TransPennine are the ones impacted at the moment, so we will risk it.
We will have a Tent and I know a few people South Lakes, so we should be okely dokely.
