Nick Ehman just did the Nose solo in 4:39, taking over an hour off a record that Honnold has held for more than a decade. For anyone that cares there’s a good write up of some of the techniques he used on the El Cap Report.

I was surprised that this isn’t a bigger news article on UKC!  Do people not see this as a big deal?

It's very impressive but I'm assuming this is just one variant of the speed record (i.e. solo) rather than THE nose record (climbing as a pair) which is more like 2 hours. So perhaps not such big news for that reason.

Must  admit I don't. Vast amounts of commitment/obsession, skill and preparation sure but I've never really seen the point!
