Hey everyone!

Hope you're all well

I just wanted to share our latest short film 'RISE', which I shot last year in the mountains of Snowdonia, UK.

'RISE' tells the story of Delyth, a climber from Llanberis who struggles with a Functional Neurological Disorder. A condition where she experiences episodic loss and control of her mind and body which has resulted in collapsing from non-epileptic seizures. Delyth regularly climbs the walls of a local quarry, which has provided her with physical and mental strength, to grow and overcome this challenge in her life.

If you get a spare moment, I would love to know what you think -  vimeo.com/674155543

Many thanks!

Lee

I thought it was really beautiful. I especially liked the line, "the challenges I face will not define me" coupled with the imagery of the sun flooding into the quarry.

In reply to TonyB:

Thanks Tony! Pleased you enjoyed it!

That was really good. The shot of her walking into the quarry and the sun lighting the place up was either really lucky timing with the camera and the weather or some digital trickry to work with the edit. Either way, the way that particular shot worked with the narrative was excellent.

Really enjoyed that. Some great shots that very dramatically emphasise the huge scale of the backdrop. E.g just coming up to 2 mins in, as Delyth walks up the path looking small in comparison and her bright colours standing out against the huge piles of slate behind. Very atmospheric throughout. Moving narration too. I too especially liked the line already mentioned by TonyB, "my challenges will not define me". Top work everyone involved and good luck to Delyth in her future climbing exploits.

Uplifting. Beautifully shot and a great combination of visuals and words. Thanks

In reply to Lee thomas dop:

Even without the great personal story, the visuals were amazing

Superb! Really enjoyed that.

In reply to Lee thomas dop:

Great stuff, I can only echo the thoughts above- beautifully shot, touching personal journey and a nice linking narrative with the shot of the crimp/fall at the beginning and crimp/succeed at the end. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, that was excellent, thanks for posting!

Never thought I'd say this but I agree with our PM above! I also liked the two crimps, one fail near the start and the success near the end to tie it up nicely.

Soundtrack and narration and camera work just wonderful.

I honestly can't think of anything to improve it...I thought it was perfect!

That was really rather good. Thanks for sharing.  I have my own neurological struggles, and the way they tend to pop up randomly and violently unannounced can make things a bit tricky.

Great film - enjoyed that.  Just a comment on the driving at 1:20 ish on the video, never cut corners like that, even if you are 'sure' it's safe, it's a really bad habit.

Don't mean to be negative - hopefully just advice that can be taken on board

In reply to kaiser:

Thanks Kaiser. The vehicle is driving on the left hand side of the road so all good there.

In reply to e.ms355:

Thank you!
