Anyone know any good ones? I'd like to find some more non diary style climbing related (or even not climbing related) blogs to read during my currently empty unemployed days, things like Grimer's blog, only updated a bit more frequently. And while we're at it, I wouldn't mind some feedback on my own (apologies for the self promotion)... www.samjleach.blogspot.com Opinions? I've got a list of blogs I like on there, if you scroll down.

Cheers!

I did an outdoor blog a while ago but eventually I thought...no one's interested in this shit ! I was looking at a respected outdoor persons blog last night and it was cringe making in its schoolboy ...'Yay...For my latest wild, wacky adventure Samantha, Jason and I did a midnight navigation exercise on Ilkley Moor...awesome'!.

I recently started a political/cultural blog upon which I can pen my own take on life the universe and everything. So far I'm finding it more satisfying than just writing up about some VS climb I did last week.

I suppose outdoor blogs are useful as a personal diary but don't expect anyone else to read them.

In general I agree - most climbing blogs are dull unless you like reading things like: 'had a really good training session last night, feeling strong. Did 20 pullups. Beast!' But there are some that I really like reading and find entertaining. Has anyone got any more suggestions?

Yeah unless you are doing something really excited then no one is really interested. They make great diaries though, I would have forgotten half my mtb rides if I'd not blogged them.

Majority of my blog visitors are more interested in the Healey Nab and Gisburn Forest mtb 'guides' than my posts In fact hardly anyone visited before I made those lol.

Did you know that you could add your blog to your user profile and it will automatically pcik up your latest posts? Just go to User Profile, scroll down to the base of the page and click 'Edit Profile...'

This is a different place from 'Your personal web page' whivh some people have set to their blogs.

In reply to Alan James - UKC: Hi Alan

Do you have to set it to the web address or the feed address?

Mark
In reply to Mark Reeves:

Either.

She's hilarious, isn't she. In another sport I can imagine her blog ending in a whole load of defamation suits...

In reply to Alan James - UKC: I didn't know that, but I'll change it now, thanks!
