Looking for a new bouldering area to visit and got some vacation left for late August?
Why not go to Västervik, a picturesque town on the Swedish east coast, some 300km south of Stockholm.
25-28 August this town will host the first annual Västervik International Boulder Meet.
Does anyone know what's best option to travel to Västervik from UK (London)?
It looks like 1000 miles drive. It looks it's better to fly to Stockholm, but what next?
I think flying with RyanAir to Skavsta Airport is actually better than to Arlanda. Arlanda, Stockholms international airport is actually pretty far off, pretty close to Uppsala (so N, from actual city). Where as Skavsta is in Nyköping, some 150 km closer to Västervik.
Easiest option would prolly be flying to Skavsta and renting a car. But I'm sure train+bus -option is also possible.
Yeah Im also flying so Skavsta with Ryanair, seems good value and you wind up a hell of a lot closer to Vastervik too! Seems to be decent bus links from Nykoping to Vastervik too.
