In reply to scottie390: Does anybody out there think it will be better for this next weekend. In my humble opinion does not look good. Is it worth the long drive?

In reply to scottie390:

Doubt it tbh, it's away to thaw away and hopefully refreeze by next weekend, though I doubt there will be any snow on top of it.

As others have said it was good last week, the weekend and today but the forecast is not looking good now!

Did route major today on carn etchachan with the red guard finish as the battlements groove wasn't iced. I thought conditions on the route were good for early season. Turf frozen, snow reasonable (a bit of powder about but not too much), didnt have to dig much for protection-great route.

We came down via the goat track and there seemed to be a bit more powder about in Sneachda. Doesnt look fantastic weather for the coming week but you never know I guess if it freezes over the weekend.

hope that helps
