Does anyone know the details of the 2 or 3 new routes that have been recently bolted at Brean Down?
The first lies just left of Clashing Socks and has a lower off under the roof and just one further bolt above the roof.
The other 1 or 2 lines lie at the far righthand end of the upper ledge of boulder cove and seem to take lines up some disturbingly loose looking ground previously covered by heavy ivy growth.
Any ideas as to whether they've all been lead? and what grades they might be?
I was there when Gordon Jenkin was doing some of this a few weeks ago.
The line just to the left of Clashing Socks is a new F6b+. No name yet I think. I did probably the 3rd ascent of that one.
He also added a new F5 just left of Brean Dream F6b to provide an easier warmup. The line looked pretty dirty. I didn't climb it and nor did Gordon on the day. Probably done since.
In reply to ally smith:
There's a line on the right which bisects Police Training Route at about F7a.
The bolts will soon be removed by the first ascensionist as it was pointed out that the bolts interfered with PTR and the route to its left.
I think Gordon had planned to add an easier line further to the right.
