Following on the from the best debut single question, one thing I appreciate in a single is a great intro, currently loving into the valley intro on the halfords ads.

In reply to andrew breckill: The Doors, 'Riders on the Storm'
In reply to Al Evans: That's another good call.

The one it *isn't * is Gimme Shelter by the Rolling Stones. Not because it isn't any good, quite the reverse; but because it doesn't introduce the rest of the song. What you hear at the start doesn't bear much relation to what comes after. The no-nonsense 4/4 intro to Honky Tonk Woman is the best Stones intro for me.

Good call, old bean.

on a similar bass-ist note:
youtube.com/watch?v=DxGsMUguKO4& (no point messing about tuning up or diddling about...just get stuck straight in )

A more mellow groove from the 'Wind
youtube.com/watch?v=p02-77XI1Gs&
and aubergine-centric

but there's really only one intro; two drumbeats..you know what it is as soon as it drops, as the kidz say

The intro may be fine but the track itself is the worst record I have ever heard by a country mile, or two. I normally like covers of Dylan songs but this is an utter, utter abomination, a shameful trashing of ........ oh, err have I gone over the top here??!!
