A good effort but not out of reach. I think 54.5 is just the sort of number that will be hard to beat but just low enough to tempt someone to take it on. 55 may have scared people off. I think we'll now see Tony Martin have a go if he gets through the Tour in one piece.
Agreed, bit disappointing the weather was against him. Incredible thing to see. I was rather surprised he could stand afterwards, having watched the state Merckx and Boardman were in.
