No, not the Brazilian city, the former "overpaid prima donna". A magnificent act of kindness and generosity from someone who has suffered enough himself recently. Well done Rio for this superb gesture and for not losing faith in life.

Ate at Rosso yesterday ( distinctly average, nice party atosphere. Credit to him for doing this.

A number of over-paid prima donnas do good stuff. Christiano Ronaldo has a decent track record of charitable giving, and even the hard-to-like Craig Bellamy has done a lot of charitable work, including a football academy in Sierra Leone - inspired (I think) by the stories of life there he heard from one of his team-mates.
