Heading up to Aviemore in the next few days and wondered what the easier gullies were like (Alladins, Crotched, The Runnel, Jacobs Ladder) Is it worth bringing the climbing gear?

In reply to BigLob:

Conditions are changing every day at the moment, but yes, definitely worth bringing the climbing gear.

Although a fair bit of powder came down on Saturday it was only a few inches, and Alladins was bare prior to it so it'll just be powder over loose scree at the moment I suspect, if indeed there's any of the last dump left anywhere.

The easy gullys on Stag Rocks are in (Diagonal Gully, Y Shaped Gully) and those aspects have been holding their snow much better than the Norries. Longer walk in, but Loch Avon is lovely anyway

Did The Runnel this morning. In reasonable condition with plenty snow, some consolidated and some not. The top crux chimney was a good ii/iii today. Team under Instruction in Central. Crotched , Spiral, Red and Goat Track Gullies all had limited cover on what would be the 1st pitch, more the higher you got. However it was raining and warm as I walked out so, unless temperatures drop rapidly what there is won't be around for long.
