Hello lovely people,

Although fit and healthy, I have recently had an unfortunate clotting incident (DVT and Pulonary Embolus) and am struggling to get cover for anything more than light hill walking. Any suggestions of helpful companies? Already using AllClear for basic stuff want some fun now .

Any one on blood thinners with any experience of this?

Do you bank with Nationwide? If so have you tried their free travel insurance? This can sometimes be upgraded to cover pre-existing medical conditions, subject to an add on premium. I have had a radical prostatectomy for prostate cancer, and have had any further complications (the cancer having spread) covered by an add on premium with them.

Austrian Alpine Club membership should provide you with mountain rescue cover, and they don't vet members for pre-existing medical conditions.
