Will Bosi has made the fourth ascent of The Prow at Kyloe-in-the-Woods. The route was originally climbed by Andy Earl at the grade of E9 6c. It was repeated in 2011 by Dan Varian and Ned Feehally, above pads and with minimal top rope inspection to clean the holds. The route starts up the arete and trends right, taking advantage of shallow pockets, before an off balance and slopey top out at 10 metres.

Impressive stuff, he made it look easy.

Andy Earl's ascent sounds really ahead of its time, a ten-metre 8A with no pads!?

That's what I thought - made it look easy. Respect; such quality climbing.

I's suggest that The Prow is one of the best of Andy's many first ascents in Northumberland.

That's a thread in itself! I reckon Endless flight Direct and The Magician must be up there as lines if nothing else.

I'm not really qualified to comment on the quality of the climbing on them...

Ha, excellent. It just ain't, is it?

That's the internet for you; I should have looked at the video, first!
In reply to Mike Highbury:

To be fair Mike, you're not the first and you definiltey won't be the last

Good video though eh? That top bit looks horrendous.

That's very kind but I still feel like an utter fool.

But you were right - even if it was for the wrong reason.

Again good of UKC to track the style of previous ascents and in the process flush out the facts.

More inaccurate reporting please

Watching the two videos side by side show how important a bit of sketching is in terms of viewer engagement!
