Friday Night is Curry Night - with Music & a glass (or three) of wine. The random browsing of my saved music reveals lots of live tracks. What are your stand-out live recordings?

Powderfinger is one of my favourite NY tunes. I think I first saw it live on one of the big TV events - Live Aid? Found it on Rust then heard a superb version by Cowboy Junkies. He performed it at one of several gigs I went to (Can't remember when) and it was brilliant.
Which reminds me that this is a superb album.

I heard the Cowboy Junkies one before I'd even heard of Neil Young - cover tape on a music mag in the early 90s.

Down By The River for me.

Me too. The version on Live Rust has the best guitar solos I've ever heard. They go off on one, explore without being self indulgent, truly expressive and full of emotion, then they move flawlessly back into the riff. Wonderful stuff. The version of Hey Hey is also fantastic, the crunchiest guitar sound ever, you can see where the Godfather of Grunge thing comes from.
