Hi,

Just got back from Aude and was wandering if anyone knew why the bolts for some of the crags around Maury have been partially removed as well as the chains at the top?

Don't think its a safety thing and thought it might be an attempt to effect a bird ban?

I did climb at Gorge de Galamus, La Buffet, Puilaurens and Gorge de Piere Lys - all of which was excellent so the Maury stuff is a bit of a mystery.

Also, if there is anyone on here who either lives out there or regularly visits and can provide advice on climbing it would be great if you could get in touch!

Lower bolts were removed from several crags 3-4 yrs ago after failures which caused a couple of deaths. Mainly centered around Vingrau.

I think (but would like it confirmed) that Vingrau is back 'on' now. Its certainly the most impressive venue I've climbed at in that region.
