Yet again volunteers from the British Mountain Medicine Society (BMMS) are combining with the BMC to offer a full weekend of workshops on 10/11 May 2025 in Hathersage on all aspects of Mountain Medicine geared to the needs of nonmedical mountaineers and climbers..
In addition to a Pie and Peas Supper the Saturday social evening has Dr Charlie Clarke speaking on Fifty years of Mountaineering and Medicine with various supporting acts. The hour long day time workshops include topics such as Altitude illness, First Aid kits, Frostbite, CPR in the mountains, Pre expedition medical advice and UK mountain Rescue services. All the workshops are tailored to the small groups and run by experienced mountain medicine and expedition doctors and paramedics.
The weekend has full CPD approval for those with national body awards. Where else can you get 30 different medical opinions from national experts over supper?
