VIDEO: Aunty Dolly: Staying Youthful through Climbing

67-year-old Singaporean climber 'Auntie Dolly' took up the sport in her fifties. She was scared of heights, and people warned her against it - 'Your bones are too brittle!', they said - but she ignored both her fear and their doubt. Over a decade later, she's also climbing outdoors and is a role model and an inspiration to both young and old. 

Through climbing, she believes that she has been rejuvenated, both physically and mentally. She has also bonded with her daughter, Julin - her 'very fierce' belayer and coach - and formed a cross-generational group of friends, ranging from people in their 20s to keen climbers in their 80s.

In this video, Aunty Dolly shares her story and her climbing wisdom.

'She doesn't look to crush the latest route, but to support people when they climb.'
