I didn't really understand the question about controversy in France though: In France, there is a lot of controversy between coaches, the media, ex-athletes, future ex-athletes... it's all very agitated. What is the controversy actually about?

Also the one: There are not going to be "proper" European Championships in Munich...*. The asterisk didn't lead anywhere. What was that question all about?

The controversy question refers to discussions regarding the French team selection, the national comps, etc.. French websites have lots of articles about the team, the selection process, the national comps, etc. (e.g.:
