Mark Vallance showing his trashed hands at the top of the Nose, Yosemite., 4 kbAs reported on UKC, Mark Vallance passed away on 19th April aged 72 following a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

I think I only met Mark in person a couple of times but when I found out I had Parkinson's Rab put me in touch with him. Mark was very helpful guiding me through the early stages encouraging me to keep doing what I do and not give in to the disease. I did and I won't, thanks Mark.

Condolences to his family and pals.

I never met him, but through his business and innovation he has had a profound impact on climbing over the last forty years. A remarkable legacy.
