Emma Twyford has become the first British woman to climb 9a with a redpoint of The Big Bang at Lower Pen Trwyn, North Wales. Emma's ascent is only the third of this route, first climbed in 1996 by Neil Carson.
I always imagined this route would actually have the sharpest holds on planet earth. What with LPT being known for savagely sharp stuff on even the easier stuff. 9a, LPT, notoriously sharp crux. We must be talking cut throat razor blade sharp. Ouch.

Amazing effort. To think she is a fellow Cumbrian too. I wish my daughter could get to see what Emma has achieved to maybe spark that love of sport climbing. Emma, if you ever need a support team to cheer you on, please let me know. Bravo
