'it felt more of a dangerous proposition than Nightmayer' - just eight days after making the second female ascent of Nightmayer, Rachel Pearce has made another E8 ascent, this time of Day of the Triffids, E8 6c, at Clogwyn y Tarw, Wales.

The main reason I did DOTT over rare lychen was that it’s quite a lot easier and a lot a lot safer !!! Definitely not a clip up though, rare lychen is way serious !

Um, no.

I've climbed loads and loads of routes, but fall short on the raw talent, discipline, mental strength and sheer drive that is needed to operate at this level.

Pedantic point but I'm pretty sure the parent route is not 'The trouble with lichen' but 'Trouble with Lichen', after the (other) sci-fi novel by John Wyndham.
