Is there a Bannau Brycheiniog (AKA Brecon Beacons) winter guide/topo?

As per the title really. I have looked in the UKC logbook area but can't find anything.

I was hoping for an evening smash-and-grab this week (If this cold snap holds out) but wanted to see what was out there before setting off.

This website is probably your best bet! If turf is frozen the most reliable conditions can be found on the North side of Pen-y-fan, might even get some ice in the gullies if its cold enough!

Had a good day out on pen-y-fan last year with a proper alpine start to make sure the turf was still frozen, and starting the route Central Rib (II) just as the sun rose.

Enjoy!

If you're on Facebook you can download an excellent PYF mini guide as well as the 1984 SW winter guide from the 'files' tab in this group - https://www.facebook.com/groups/SouthWalesWinterClimbing/?ref=share

No longer 'on' FB. Thanks though.

Update... I was aiming for some ice bashing last night, went to the cupboard in my garage where my boots are stashed to find that a mouse had enjoyed the relative warmth of a mountain boot!

I'm now in the market for some new boots!
