BMC membership reaches all time high

BMC logo oblong The BMC starts 2010 with record membership, having reached over 70,000 in December.

Dave Turnbull, BMC CEO says: “It's great to see our membership in such good shape and continuing to grow. Membership subscriptions account for approximately 50 per cent of BMC income, so it is clear we rely on members' support to sustain our services, work programmes and new initiatives. So please keep encouraging your mountain-loving friends to join the BMC.”

People join the BMC for a variety of reasons. They may be embarking on a training award, taking out BMC insurance or wishing to access the multitude of other membership benefits available to BMC members. Others join primarily to support the BMC's work to conserve the mountain environment and to secure access to crags.

The BMC is grateful to all members for their support and to the countless volunteer hours BMC members put in to the organisation.
