At this years Kendal Mountain Festival (Nov 17th - 20th) Lowe Alpine invite guests to escape the festival storm by paying a visit to their secluded #makewintercount Bothy event. Nestled between the wild base camp and the roaring VATS bar, The Bothy will offer refuge, while still being in the heart of the action.

In line with Lowe Alpine’s latest campaign #makewintercount, the Bothy will encourage and inspire festival attendees to make the most of Winter with several events, competitions and workshops for guests to get involved in.

Inside The Bothy, Lowe Alpine will host an incredible live art installation with renowned British artist Tessa Lyons. Each visitor will be asked to make a pledge to try something new this Winter, which Tessa will creatively interpret onto a huge canvas, creating a magnificent piece of art, built from the aspirations of the festival. Each visitor who makes a pledge will leave with a Lowe Alpine goodie bag and the chance to win some fantastic prizes. This live art installation is a Kendal first, offering a creative, interactive experience for guests to enjoy and remember.

In addition to the live art installation, the #makewintercount Bothy will also host 'The Bothy Project' film launch party on Friday 18th November, 6.30pm.. In conjunction with The BMC and LightShed Pictures, the film features a group of female artists, including bothy artist Tessa Lyons, exploring the relationship between art and wilderness. It is the latest project from the team that created the award winning film 'Operation Moffat'. This exclusive first screening will be followed by a Q&A with the director and cast, with music and beer to wash it all down.

To top it all off, The Bothy will host a daily winter skills workshop and talks from leading alpinists including Andy Cave and Ben Tibbetts.

With a packed schedule of exciting events at this years festival, Lowe Alpine ensure that everyone will leave The Bothy with all the information and inspiration they need to go outside and #makewintercount this year.
