Rockfax Description
Safe technical climbing up the left side of the wall with a spectacular finish. From a little way along Tiger Traverse (or from FFE) climb the wall to the next break, shimmy right then gain the tiny flakes and use them to scale the final blank wall. © Rockfax

Ace route. Started up FFE and then traversed into the rest from the right. Spent a while fiddling gear in. Got my foot up in the break, got the first okay hold, matched, but then I couldn't commit to the move to the large sloping jug. Jumped off. Did it next go - nice climbing and safe.

Seconded this a few years back with much sitting on the rope. Pleased to get to the good rest at the break below the crux clean. Reckon it's a 6a move or two going off the starting break, followed by a bold 5b/c move to the next break (had a vertically placed 0.4 cam which seemed ok but it was pretty shallow so wasn't convinced; the gear below is good but you'd go a fair way, though probably wouldn't deck). Spent a while figuring out the crux. I'm just not strong enough to move off the small sloping flattie which you have to go off if you don't use the Five Fingers flake. Using the flake is still hard though! Got one hand on the diagonal sloper non-flake below the next break a couple of times but couldn't figure out how to get the balance to match it. Gave up after falling off about 5 times as got knackered and Eszter was being midged. One to come back for...

Headpunt. Fell off the Onsight, tried the crux a couple of times but couldn't commit. Had a rest then climbed it from the deck. Proper good route, but found it 'ard.

Led on Rich's gear. Superb moves. Beautiful morning at Cratcliffe. Whole crag looks much better since recent tree clearing.

Fell off first time round, then sussed it second time. Probably E4 with beta, E5 without, very safe.

Tried this a couple of weekends before with Porky. Spicy and hard for the grade. Well done John Hart.
