Rockfax Description
The classic E3 at Wintour's Leap. Start in bushes at a flake below a wide horizontal break and very thin crack above it (This is 8m left of the usually well-chalked corners of Heil Hitler!).
1) 5c, 28m. The flake and thin crack (peg) lead to a step right and a short crack in lighter rock. Move up the crack and turn the overhang on its right (peg) and reach a ledge above. Less-pressing moves up and right past pegs gain a tree and belay.
2) 5a, 11m. Take a crack on the right until a move right accesses a groove that is followed to a large ledge that runs under the upper walls.
3) 6a, 23m. Tackle the steep and difficult left-leading groove (peg) to its end at an overhang. Traverse left to a corner and climb it to a ledge at a horizontal break. Finish up the rib and crack to the abseil point and belay. © Rockfax
