Start two metres left of a broken corner, pull up into slight cracks. Then move leftwards along lip of the roof to the sharp arete of the buttress. Snatch and balance up right-hand side of the arete to an abseil station

Great quality and well worth putting together some logical beta for.

Wise 29/Aug Lead dog

I'm finding this surprisingly physical. Gutted to fall off the last couple of moves, but more gutted to have to admit that Jim's beta was better than mine.

Felt hard and insecure. Struggled to read it. Dogged it and then decided I didnt like it so stripped. Might have felt better 2nd go but didnt fancy it.

Brilliant sequence. Fell of the last move twice and got quite frustrated though - thanks Tom for the patient belay!

One of the best arete climbs I have ever done. The sequence is brilliant.

Great arête climbing after a powerful traverse, best route of the crag so far!

Second RP! (4th attempt in total.) Hard to believe it's high in the grade if I can get it that quickly, maybe it just suits my style, or maybe the heel hook on the little ledge round the arete isn't on? (It seems natural enough.) Either way, it's a 3* route.

3rd RP. Amazing route in a great position! Techy, sustained and insecure the whole time!

Quite hard, hated it on the OS attempt but thought it was great once I had worked a sequence.

Awesome route, great technical and powerful climbing

about 6 or 7 goes over 2 sessiions, should have been second go. Great line but found the climbing immensely insecure, glad i got it done today!

Went to see if it was dry even though it was raining, the route stays bone dry even in quite heavy rain. Got it third redpoint attempt, one of the most striking lines at the crag and an awsome route, my first 7b+.

Quality climbing from start to finish! technical start, then really balancey but also powerful and dynamic moves up the arete. Blew the onsight halfway up the arete, got boxed! Finished it off and worked out the sequence but forgot what to do on the redpoint and didnt have the beans to have another go, bummer! definately worth comin back just to do this, 4* route!
