High Tor is managed by Derbyshire Dales District Council (DDDC) and there is a regular wardening service in operation. There are no major access problems at High Tor, but climbers should take careful note of the following agreed guidelines:
Reason: Nesting Birds
High Tor is a SSSI of extremely high botanical value with some very rare grasses and plants located around the crag. Climbers are requested to be especially careful not to trample grass at the base of the crag and to stick to the established paths so as not to damage plants on the wooded approaches.
Rockfax Description
Start as for Reproduction until established above the overlap. Step left onto the face and make technical moves to gain a small flake, then move up to a break and gear. Continue direct until you can step right to rejoin Reproduction below its thread. © Rockfax
UKC Logbook Description
Start as for Reproduction until established above the arching overlap. Arrange some gear and step left into the centre of the face. Make fingery and technical moves to gain a small right facing flake, then move up to a break and gear. Continue directly for a few metres, until you can step right to jugs on Reproduction, a few moves below the thread. Finish up Reproduction.
