Rockfax Description
A standard 'North Wall adventure'. Start below and left of the 25m long corner with yellow flanking walls, above which a thin crack-line continues for two-thirds the height of the wall - take a lot of microwires!
1) 5a, 32m. The loose crack in the left wall leads to a stance on easier-angled rock.
2) 6b, 45m. Move up and right to the start of a thin crack-line that marks the way up the slab. Follow the crack, taking care in places, to an awkward move left to a good rest. Move back right and continue on your way up the crack. Small wires and technical weirdness lead to a sloping ledge occupied by gorse and scree. Traverse right to a block belay.
3) 5a, 40m. Gain the vegetation on the ledge up and to the left. Ledge shuffle up and left to gain the left facing corner crack that ends at a pinnacle. Head up the grooves behind the pinnacle to the belay on a large ledge.
4) 5a, 15m. Head up and right taking the line of least resistance to the heathery summit and a rowan tree belay. © Rockfax
