UKC/UKH Readership Survey 2016 - Big Prizes!

In 2010 and 2013 we carried out a readership survey. The first time we got an amazing 4,500 responses and the second time a staggering 6,800! We reckon this makes it the biggest survey ever of climbers and mountaineers in the UK, probably Europe and maybe the World. The results of these surveys have been instrumental in shaping the way UKClimbing and UKHillwalking look today. UKHillwalking was created as a direct result of the 2010 survey and responsive mobile-friendly sites was one of the main requests fed back to us after the 2013 survey, that and the Rockfax App. See some of the 2013 Survey Results here.

It is now time for a new readership survey which we are again doing jointly across UKClimbing.com and UKHillwalking.com. The surveys will be similar and you can only fill out one - either the UKC version, which is more climbing based, or the UKH version which is a slightly shorter hillwalking-based survey. Please choose the survey that corresponds best to your interest level and which site you visit the most. The survey is split into six short sections and takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete.

The data we get from the readership survey is incredibly useful for us. By seeing what activities you do we can target the site more specifically towards your needs. We can change the site according to the way people are now using it, and you can tell us what you think of UKC and Rockfax.

Another very important section for us is the section about the gear you use and where you buy it. The sites are exclusively funded by advertising so being able to present our current and potential advertisers with detailed data about our readers buying habits is vitally important to us.

The readership survey is completely anonymous - no reference to your email address or IP address will be recorded. Your User Profile will be marked with an indicator showing that you have completed the survey, and we ask you to check your address details at the end (to send the prizes to if required), but there is no connection between the User Profile and any particular set of responses.

Prize Draw

Everyone who completes the survey (you must answer 80% of the questions) is given the option to be included in a draw for one of the great prizes below.

Dare I ask... why the EU referendum question at the end?
19 May, 2016
I think it was question 3, or at least one of the early questions, asking how often I climb outdoors. None of the options (once or twice a month, just weekends, or more than twice a week) fit. I climb less than twice a week, more than twice a month, almost never at weekends.

Was thinking exactly the same thing.... Especially with no option saying "none of your damn business"
Ok, yes I see your point. In this case the 'weekends' answer would be appropriate since it is about frequency, not the actual day. I am not going to change the wording though since we have already had over 1000 responses, but I will make a note for changing the text for next time. Alan
