Katherine told 8a.nu she had attempted the route last year but that she, at the time, lacked the bouldering strength required to do a hard, dynamic move in the upper part of the route.
This year, due to the competition routes becoming increasingly bouldery, she decided to add more bouldering to her training regime, which apparently helped.
Success came on the fourth day of attempts this year and, as is so often the case, this was the last day of the trip.
She has previously climbed one 8c+, Southern Smoke in the Red river Gorge, and several 8c´s.

French climber Julia Chanourdie also climbed the same route earlier this month.
