To celebrate International Women's Day, we have drawn together some of the key women's climbing and mountaineering initiatives for 2020. From the 99-year-old Pinnacle Club, to the 10th Anniversary Women's Climbing Symposium to some brand new additions, the women's climbing scene is going from strength to strength with many diverse events all across the country...and further afield! This is just a sample, and there are many wonderful local clubs and meets going on too. So whether you are a beginner or experienced, whatever flavour of climbing you are into, we hope you will find inspiration, fun and fellowship here!

1-4Womenclimb Big Welsh Weekend
Back by popular demand, this is a hut-based weekend of multi-pitch climbing for competent climbers.
Womenclimb is the UK's biggest female climbing community. We're passionate about all things climbing, and aim to provide an inclusive, welcoming and friendly space which supports women in their climbing journey. We run meetups throughout the year, all around the UK, helping people to connect with each other to find climbing partners, to share skills to lead outdoors and boost their confidence.

As part of a wider event aiming to educate, share and improve the skills necessary to enjoy the mountains and crags safely, Katy Whittaker is organising two women's specific clinics:
• DMM Women's Introduction to Trad Climbing: Build your confidence learning key skills, helping improve your 'Trad' climbing whilst also developing your personal ability to move on rock securely.
• Women's Fine Tune Your Lead Climbing: Coaching from some of the best in the business in helping you fine tune your lead climbing skills to help with confidence to tackle the next grade.

Established in 1921 to encourage the development of rock climbing and mountaineering amongst women, we bring together those who are interested in these pursuits over the course of about 30 meets a year. The Women's Climbing Symposium's French language sister event is back for a third year, with a second venue.
Notre but est d'influencer positivement le monde des grimpeurs en connectant, en inspirant, et en aidant chacun dans son développement personnel. We want to make alpine experiences available to more women. Growing together through adventure and supporting each other in a community of like minded friends to achieve our lofty dreams.
Alpine peaks, huge mountain multi-pitch rock climbing routes, single pitch in a mountain environment, via ferrata, easy walk-ins thanks to chair lifts and incredible views. Not to mention wine, gelato and pizza!!

10The 10th Anniversary Women's Climbing Symposium
It feels hard to believe that WCS is 10 years old! After touring the country for a decade with a mission to connect, develop and inspire women in their climbing, we are returning to our roots and Liverpool, where the very first event took place in 2011. We hope you can join us to celebrate. Keep an eye out for some exciting new WCS events throughout the anniversary year in partnership with adidas TERREX and adidas Five Ten!
