2020 Women's Climbing Calendar

To celebrate International Women's Day, we have drawn together some of the key women's climbing and mountaineering initiatives for 2020. From the 99-year-old Pinnacle Club, to the 10th Anniversary Women's Climbing Symposium to some brand new additions, the women's climbing scene is going from strength to strength with many diverse events all across the country...and further afield! This is just a sample, and there are many wonderful local clubs and meets going on too. So whether you are a beginner or experienced, whatever flavour of climbing you are into, we hope you will find inspiration, fun and fellowship here!

Back by popular demand, this is a hut-based weekend of multi-pitch climbing for competent climbers.

Womenclimb is the UK's biggest female climbing community. We're passionate about all things climbing, and aim to provide an inclusive, welcoming and friendly space which supports women in their climbing journey. We run meetups throughout the year, all around the UK, helping people to connect with each other to find climbing partners, to share skills to lead outdoors and boost their confidence.

It feels hard to believe that WCS is 10 years old! After touring the country for a decade with a mission to connect, develop and inspire women in their climbing, we are returning to our roots and Liverpool, where the very first event took place in 2011. We hope you can join us to celebrate. Keep an eye out for some exciting new WCS events throughout the anniversary year in partnership with adidas TERREX and adidas Five Ten!

BMC Women Rock Exhibition

A touring exhibition tracing the history of British female climbers from 1861 right up to the present day. The women featured have all broken barriers whether its First Ascents, First Female Ascents, First Female-only expeditions, smashed grade barriers or the likes.

Based in Scotland, Girls on Hills is a guided trail, fell and skyrunning company, designed specifically for women. They also offer navigation and mountain safety and hillwalking courses for beginners.

Closing the gender gap on completion of leadership, instruction and coaching awards in climbing, walking and mountaineering, Mountain Training are trying to influence their corner of the outdoor sector to transform more women's lives.
