just read this article in rock and ice where Neil Gresham states that over 60's should stop bouldering, avoid anything overhanging, hangboarding and campusing? Really?

He's just scared of the oldies climbing better than him.

He is still young.

The article is 11 years old and it is poor that Rock and Ice is recycling it. I’d be surprised if Neil hasn’t modified his views in the meantime particularly in view of him also hitting personal bests in his redpointing late in his career.

Theres a video of Dave Macleod interviewing Neil about various things on YouTube. He does apologise for that article. It’s a pretty interesting vid actually.

I’m glad you didn’t attach a link. That would only encourage them.

I’m 72 and just started at Boulder (UK) after effectively a 45 year lay-off.

What V grade can I aspire to?

Bugger, from the title I was hoping it was going to contain something that would help me.

Just looked it up, it is interesting. youtube.com/watch?v=I2wgXc_blao&

The bit about older climbers starts around 42:00.

Worth a listen.

In reply to jeffmearns: But all those things are to be encouraged for over 70’s.
