Hiya, I've realised that my ipod doesn't have music after the letter T. Can anyone recommend some decent bands from later in the alphabet? Cheers!

It does get pretty thin up that end of the alphabet though. Looking through the smaller British categories even more so. (Especially if you put all the "The" bands under T, wikipedia's categorization puts them in the next letter, so "The Who" is under "W".

Numbers also come after "T" in i-Tunes

So 10,000 Maniacs would be a good choice

Thank you Sir! Saw them ages ago on their first ever tour, if I recall correctly. Seen a few times since. Very Silly.

Wouldn't he be an "H" (in any sane person's alphabetised collection, regardless of how iTunes chooses to order it)?
 Blue Straggler 04 Feb 2013
In reply to Blastbar:

The most under-represented letter of the alphabet in my own collection is "K", oddly! I actually have more bands starting with Q, X and Z.

Yes, thats a fair shout for Alvin. I was scraping around amongst the 'mymusic' directories for the limited ones I have.
This could be a proto-thread ..... mis-named artists.....John Cougar Mellencamp....Sonny Boy Williamson ????

In reply to Blue Straggler: Albert King, Freddie King, BB King, Al Kooper, Kolinda (European gypsy band from the 80s), The Knitters (alt country band), The Kinks. You have no excuses - go out and buy buy buy.
 OMR 05 Feb 2013
In reply to OMR: Oh, and King Crimson too.

Load some classical music - there's loads of V and W composers.

In reply to OMR:

I have a King Crimson CD!

Here's a thing.
I'd probably file Prince Buster under "B" if I had any, yet King Crimson under "K". Is that normal? Where would you put Count Basie? Or Mr Scruff?

Think we had a long thread about this once, but those examples didn't enter into it.

The Darjeelings?
 OMR 05 Feb 2013
In reply to Blue Straggler: I can see this is a serious matter which could end in fisticuffs, but I'm going to wade in regardless and explain my thinking with my own overlarge vinyl and CD collections. Normal names - John Smith etc - get filed under surname. Band names - King Crimson, Jethro Tull, Vibrators etc - get filed on the first name.
Prince Buster? Ah well. My totally inflexible system ensures that made-up personal names are filed under... whatever I was thinking at the time. Howlin Wolf is filed under W; Little Walter is filed under L.
...I realise now I have no right to an opinion on thjs subject.

In reply to Blastbar: Wire. I just bought Pink Flag and I'm loving it. As I was into punk in the 70's I don't know how I've managed to overlook them for so long! Now looking forward to discovering the rest of their stuff.
 OMR 06 Feb 2013
In reply to aln: Chairs Missing was their next and lacked the attack of the first, although still a cracking album. I think they went into solo projects after that, of varying wierdness.
 aln 06 Feb 2013
In reply to OMR: According to Amazon there were solo projects but also more Wire records. 154 gets great reviews.
