He composed my favourite bond theme of all time

Absolutely extraordinary. I'm no fan of 'easy listening', but I can listen to his music - and lyrics - endlessly.  And the collaboration with Hal David - mindblowing. 'Do you know the was to San Jose'... skewering the American dream at the same time as surfing it! How did he/they do that?!

In reply to Bob Kemp:

Not forgetting "This Guy's in Love With You" by Herb Alpert. What a list!

Oops, yes missed that one which is brilliant, Herb Albert is a great talent too in both music and art.

I think the White Stripes/Kate Moss collaboration on this has greater artistic merit

In reply to Bob Kemp:

The Look of Love from the 1967 James Bond spoof Casino Royale was, I think, performed on the soundtrack by Dusty Springfield. But it's the Casino Royale theme that'll stick in my mind, played by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass. Love it.

Ah. I see wintertree beat me to it... 😁
