Hi
Two of us are heading to the Dolomites in September with the hope of doing some multi pitch sport- relatively easy (highest grade 6b/ 6c if possible). I've been looking at a couple of Italian sites but wondered if anyone had done any good routes to recommend. Are there many fully bolted sport multi pitch routes or is a little bit of gear always necessary?

Cheers
Emily

Hi Emily

Last September my friend and I climbed the north face of Cima Grande via the Comicci Dimai and is in that grade range.

It was practically a sport route with pegs all the way up. We may have placed a dozen bits of gear on the whole route in total.

The walk in is super easy but the descent is more complicated.

The Rockfax guide for this is very good.

Hope that helps.

A few more suggestions:

Piz Ciavazes - Giovanni Paolo II (6c)
Parete Oscura della Luna - Legoland, Orwell, Blade Runner (all around 6b-6c)
Piccolo Lagazuoi - Orizzonti di Gloria (6a+)
Hexenstein / Sass da Stria - Ultima Thule (6c)
Col dei Bos - Via Francesca (6c)
Tofana - Aspettando la Vetta (6c, quite a bit more serious than the other routes)
Tofana Castelletto - La grande guerra (6b)
Tofana Castelletto - Pacchia (6c)
Lastoni di Formin - Super Tegolina (6c)
Monte Formin - Re Artu (6b)
Val Rienza - Hat Spass gemacht (6b)

All of these (excecpt Aspettando la Vetta and to a much lesser extent, Super Tegolina) could be classified as "Plaisir routes", i.e. well bolted (especially at the cruxes) and little to no gear required. Have fun!
