American ultra and mountain runner Hillary Gerardi has set a new women's fastest known time for an ascent and descent of Mont Blanc (4,809m) on foot in 7 hours, 25 minutes and 28 seconds. The previous record was held by Swedish athlete Emilie Forsberg, who set a time of 7 hours 53 minutes and 12 seconds on June 21, 2018.
