> Joining your local musical society is taking a risk?
Have you ever done it? Going to any club or society by yourself is exceedingly daunting. I spent 30 minutes outside a dance class plucking up the courage to go in for the first time and I would describe myself as outgoing. I guess if you are timid it would be an exceedingly daring thing to do.
Or play "W*nker" in a northern pub for proper riskiness. You know the one? You sit around with your effete student friends, and someone is nominated to go up to a stranger and call them a w*nker. Then they come back and pick the next person to go.
The game ends when someone is beaten up. Funnily enough, I don't know anyone who actually claims to have played it.
