French climber Caroline Ciavaldini has climbed Arnaud Petit's Voie Petit 8b (450m) on the Grand Capucin in the Mont Blanc massif. The route has been a long-term goal for Caroline, who has made a bold yet successful transition from international competitions to hard trad, culminating in this latest foray into alpine climbing.

I really enjoy Caroline Ciavaldini's attitude in what she does. In interviews, videos, and her write-ups, her pure, naive, humble enthusiasm is always refreshing and just makes me want to go out and climb. She is such a strong, all-round climber and yet she seems to preserve a spirit of pure, mesmerized joy, like someone that just climbed their first pitch ever, and know they are already hooked.
