About us
We are a forward thinking climbing wall which has expanded over the years to offer a diverse range of kids and adults climbing sessions, fitness classes and community events.

We are also at an exciting point in our development as we have recently bought Freedog trampoline parks and are in the process of expanding these to include two new state of the art bouldering centres.

This is a great time to join our growing company!

What we are looking for
We are looking for a Reception Manager to support our team to ensure continued excellent service to all our customers. As well as maintaining the welcoming vibes and friendly face of Redpoint, the Reception Manager works closely alongside the Centre Manager and the entire management team in overseeing the administration and smooth running of the centre.

This position provides the chance to demonstrate and develop management experience in a busy climbing wall. We see this as the perfect position for someone wanting to build the skills to become a Centre Manager.

Role and responsibilities
Alongside your core management role you will be expected to work "on the floor" as an All-Rounder, performing duties such as reception, bookings, duty management and instruction (if qualified to do so). You will also have the opportunity to assist with other aspects of running the centre e.g. event planning.

However, your main areas of responsibility are as follows:

  • Train the staff in use of the POS system (Rock Gym Pro)
  • Search for efficiencies within the reception team
  • Establish and maintain a professional, clean and tidy "face" to reception
  • Ensure admin is taken care of diligently and correctly
  • Ensure the Customer Service Policy is kept at the heart of the reception role
  • Provide support in dealing with more complicated customer enquiries

  • Train and develop the bookings team
  • Build on the established skills of the bookings and reception team
  • Monitor and improve upon our product offerings
  • Ensure that it is as easy as possible for customers to purchase our products
  • Monitor and oversee invoicing for bookings

Customer Service Policy
Redpoint Bristol has in place a customer service policy that has helped us create a reputation for being a friendly and welcoming place to climb and socialise. As the Reception Manager it is vital that this policy is maintained on the ground through the smiles of our receptionists.

Staff Welfare
We have a staff welfare system in place to allow staff a safe place to talk about anything they wish, be it personal or professional. The entire management team must do everything they can to be approachable by the staff and are responsible for recording and acting on their concerns.

  • Be a professional and approachable member of staff
  • Communicate concerns to at least one other member of the management
  • Record all staff welfare issues

Required experience

  • Be a keen climber
  • Experience in administration and/or reception work

Desirable experience

  • Worked on a climbing centre reception
  • Fluent in the use of Rock Gym Pro including use of the integrated bookings system.

  • Worked as a Duty Manager at a climbing centre
  • Proven experience managing and supporting a team

Desirable qualifications

  • CWDI
  • First Aid

  • Further qualifications in instructing, coaching and first aid paid for by Redpoint. We are keen to support the professional development of our team and so are happy to consider bespoke requests for training relevant to your job role.
