Best Low-Key campsites in the Lake District?

Can anyone recommend some low-key camping in the Lakes?

A field with a toilet block is all I'm after. A lot of places there seem to be pricy with glamping, electrical hookups and no-doubt chocked with holidaying families. Ideally the sort of place you just turn up before a certain time and check in, rather than having to use their online booking calendar 3 months in advance...

Cheers!

Baysbrown Farm, Chapel Stile, Langdale - not far from the National Trust Glampsite so handy for Pavey Ark, Gimmer etc etc

http://www.hollowsfarm.co.uk/ in Borrowdale, near Shepherd's and the myriad of other crags in the area.  Open May 13th.  If you just have a tent camp in the field on the West Side through the trees.

Turner Hall campsite, Duddon Valley is pretty good - very isolated though.

oh - second this place - I completely forgot this was the last time I went to the Lakes whenever that was in Jan or something. Stunning location, the most isolated I've felt in England ever. Plenty of walks straight from the campsite and a nice pub 10 mins walk down the road.

It was funny because we drove 3 hours in the rain to get to our walk, parked up in the pouring rain, got out of the car and got into our hiking gear in the rain, started our walk already soaked, walked our entire walk in the rain, (getting the picture?), drove to the campsite in the rain, pitched our tents in the rain, went into the shower block in the rain (showers are wonderful and a £1 per pop but absolutely worth it. Bosh £3 in treat yerself!), then when we came out of the shower the rain had stopped and we cracked a beer just in time to watch the sunset. Then a lovely dry walk down to the pub and dry for the rest of the trip. Great times.

Lovely place on a family run farm, no glamping A bit isolated yes, but a nice  walk to Dow Crag.

And the showers are sooooo... good.

Yes, far too isolated definitely don't go there.

Pic a place without showers. Showers make campsites popular.

Can the mods delete this thread, it’s giving away all the gems.

Not sure if you would call them low key, but we really like Setmabanning and Burns Farm, both of which are at the Threlkeld end of St John's in the Vale. Lovely sites.

Government has extended the time limit from 28 days to 56 days for 'pop up' temporary campsites, until December 2021. Should lead to a few more handpainted signs in the corner of fields. Don't know how you'd find them? May give a few more options if you can't book.
