Heading out to western Dolomites for the first time end of this August/start of September and looking for recommendations for places to stay… possibly around Canazei as that seems quite central. It’s 2 of us, flying and renting a car. Nothing is off the cards yet so open to all suggestions cheers. Ross

Stayed just down the road from Canazei, in Campitello Di Fassa a few years ago. Throroughly recommend that area as a location. The Sella towers are just at the top of the pass, and you have great access to the whole Western end of the range and the Marmolada etc.

+1 for Campitello Di Fassa.

Excellent campsite and very well located as James says.

Out of interest, I had looked at this already and it says Sat to Sat bookings unless you put in a special request - did you happen to do Sat or Sat or how did you get on with the booking process? Cheers

Stayed in Camping Colfosco, close to Covara, last summer. No booking - just turn up - which could be a problem if really busy. Good facilities and good access to all the north west Dolomite climbing areas. We focussed on Via Ferrate and it was an excellent base.
