I was constantly being buzzed by a drone last week while climbing Aiguille Dibona.

I don't care how 'good' the footage looks, they are a real intrusion in the environment. 

They are a menace. Although on the Hornli probably only one of several menaces.

Superb!  It looks horrendous, and I climbed to the summit that way 61 years ago today!  I would have second thoughts now.

Drones are why shotguns were invented. Jet ski's are why hunting rifles were invented.

I think the chough in that video is actually the one doing it right!

I was thinking the same, although it's only 48 years ago for me. What was I thinking? The ignorance  of youth - we thought we knew what we were doing, but looking back we hadn't a clue. 

So did I, start of September, it was a very dry season I have noted. My first season of climbing aged 28

The video is fantastic for demonstrating the illusion of foreshortening. The ridge goes on and on longer than expected. Then you get to the hut and think ok not far to the top. Then the ridge goes on and on. 

The sweeping turn looking back down over the summit is vertigo-inducing.

Twenty years ago tomorrow. Thanks for sharing this - it sums up my experience perfectly, that damn ridge just goes on and on and on and on and on. And there's nowhere that would forgive a slip.
