Amazing, and may be Dave *is* some kind of Scottish deity. But perhaps it's best just to leave it at that - because there is some fairly spooky Scottish mythology!
Yeah, it's damn impressive. The three 8's (8a 8A and E8) have been done in a day in Cumbria before but chucking winter into the mix massively reduces the pool of people capable of doing this.
Personally, I'll be happy with three 8's in a lifetime, currently on 8a, 8A and E7 although I've no short-term ambitions to climb hard trad again for now.

Given that Pete Whittaker was leading VIII within about a week of learning to climb Scottish Winter, I dare say there are quite a few who would be up to the challenge if they put their mind to it.
Just noticed he did only 6 8s. What happened to the other two? Slacker!
Joking aside, this is one of the best as well as hardest climbing multi-challenges I've ever heard of, and to get both himself and the conditions right enough for it to work sounds incredible.
