Hi, I'm newish to climbing outdoors, and I am heading to Portland (not Oregon) in the near future, and I'm looking to break into the 7th grade. I climb comfortably in the 7s indoors, and I'm quite a powerful climber. any suggestions for a good 7A/+ to try?

Thanks in advance!

PS. This is French 7A not Font, so lead.

Superfly Guy would be my 7a pick. Or Sacred Angel, or Psychic EMF in the soft 7a+ zone. Good luck 🤞

Sacred Angel (7a) is a cheap first 7a but it is very soft. If you're just after a quick tick then that's your one, but if you're after something that's actually at the grade you'll went a bigger challenge. Personally I'd recommend The Cutting Edge (6c+) which gets 7a when done direct (and one of the best routes of its grade on the island), Wolfgang Forever (7a) which is lovely, or Appleturnoverload (7a+) which gets 7a+ but is really 7a.

7A is Font grading, 7a is French sport climbing grade.
