51m, 2 pitches.

Rockfax Description
A classic journey crossing the main face. With the exception of one short sequence, the climbing is no harder than 5b with delightful balance moves between good pockets. Approach via the 1st pitch of Skylight and a long ramble rightwards along the grubby ledge system.
1) 5c, 27m. From the Castellan cave, follow the lower break to gain a rest at the Lyme Cryme stance (possible belay). The juggy crack above is climbed until it is possible to cross the pocketed wall rightwards to the Debauchary stance.
2) 5b, 24m. Pick-pocket daintily rightwards to Darius and follow the juggy flakes up and right until another delicate sequence leads to Original Route. Finish up this or abseil off.
Darius Finish, 5c. A superb alternative, which improves one of the finest E2s around, is to belay after the delicate traverse on pitch 2 and then finish up Darius. © Rockfax

FFA. Unknown. FA. (Pitch 1) Chris Jackson, John Atkinson 1965. (Full route) Jack Street, Ed Ward-Drummond (some aid) 1965.

βeta: A wonderful route, lovely and (as the name suggests) delicate. On P1 the "lower break" leaves the cave half way up the sidewall. On P2, after crossing Darius, stay low going into Original Route. And that lower bolt on the Original Route stance is looking increasingly manky..

Theeni 28 Aug, 2018 AltLd O/S Evening raid. I split the first pitch into two and led both as I was worried about drag. In hind sight I could have gotten away with it but the crux was in my second pitch and it was nice to have no drag for that. Andy led that last pitch, in twilight and we ebbed in the dark. Amazing route and not bad for our first multi pitch together!

tom_drysdale 16 Aug, 2018 AltLd O/S Amazing. Woke up after a soggy bivvy and waited a couple of hours for the rock to dry then got on this. Kate led the pitch out of the cave, Lucy led the one to the belay ledge and I led the 3rd one across to the abseil. Quite the adventure and I dropped a shoe half way, but overall one of the best E2s I've done!

Kate Dean 16 Aug, 2018 AltLd O/S Took a while working out where to belay after the first pitch, did it in the wrong place anyway and had to phone Tom and Lucy to ask how to build an anchor. Other incidents include Tom losing a shoe, Lucy accidentally eliminating most of the holds and me pulling a large block off the end. Probably still my best ever trad day out.

jungle 22 Jun, 2018 2nd O/S Doing this as a second is a bit spicy. The initial bulge round the corner requires an unflattering, smeary squat shuffle with an undercling - not great if you have giraffe legs like me. The start of the second pitch is much like its namesake. Will go back and lead this one day when it's not baking hot.

Dale ?Jun, 2017 AltLd O/S A stunning route better than debauchery. I had the crux pitch which feels brilliantly exposed on the traverse under the roof then you feel left on your own with tricky route finding to know when to go across to the belay and a good sting in the tail. Absorbing climbing was shaking abit at belay as nearly mucked up my feet but reversed and fixed it. Then stu had lovely delicate traverse on second pitch with a cheeky mono. Excellent Wednesday evening O and it was boiling hot 27

Misha 30 Mar, 2014 Lead O/S A great choice for the first trad route of the year. Not hard for the grade but a couple of tricky sections above / across from gear to get the trad head back in gear. An intricate line which is fairly obvious most of the way but I went too high up the groove of Lyme Crime and had to reverse it for a few metres to get onto the finishing rising traverse on P1. Started up the F6b approach pitch and abbed off the Original Route belay. Led all the way - James did very well to second it clean.

Dave Foster 3 Jul, 2011 2nd O/S Felt like bloody hard work. Coming out of the cave was tough (bunched if you're tall) and the whole route feels very sustained. Feet are still sore. Bonza lead by Si in blistering heat. Dehydrated by the time we'd ab'd off.
