Thanks to everyone for their suggestions to my query: several father to son/daughter successions but I don't think any of them really match up to the dynasty status of the Mathesons and the Birketts. Three generations each climbing at or near the top standard of their day. Deepsoup's very nice example was the only other three generation story, but much more gently geared. Any more British and Irish climbing dynasties? Or any mother and daughter successions?
Seems to me that the three generations story of the Mathesons, part captured in this video, is pretty rare - it should be properly celebrated.
