AKA 'So you think you can climb VS!'
Using the current BMC definitive guidebook this is a list of the 38 starred VS’s in the Burbage Valley (Burbage North, Burbage South, Carl Wark and Higgar Tor). It would make a great 'in a day' challenge. When compared with the excellent 'Stanage VS challenge (1989 Guide)' the routes in this Burbage version are generally shorter, more difficult and often more characterful. 15 of the 38 VS's have a tech grade of 5a or above. Using Rockfax grades 18 of them receive 5a or above and 6 are graded as HVS. Expect a fight! Starting and finishing at the north end gives a circular day out enabling you to enjoy a triumphant finish on The File.
